The Nike Pegasus 40 is a neutral daily training shoe designed for road running. It serves as a versatile workhorse for runners of all levels, handling everything from easy recovery runs to tempo workouts.

The midsole combines React foam with dual Zoom Air units in the heel and forefoot. The React foam provides a firm, responsive base while the Zoom Air units add bounce without feeling squishy. The Nike Pegasus 40 delivers moderate cushioning that balances comfort and ground feel. The ride quality is consistent across various paces, making it suitable for daily training miles, long runs, and up-tempo efforts. The Nike Pegasus 40 uses a Duralon blown rubber outsole with waffle-pattern tread. Flex grooves throughout the outsole allow natural foot movement and smooth transitions.
