The midsole features Light Boost foam, a TPU-based material that is 30% lighter than the original Boost while delivering controlled cushioning and solid energy return. The Adidas ULTRABOOST 5 offers a soft, well-cushioned ride without feeling soggy, though the rebound is moderate rather than aggressive. With 9mm more foam throughout the foot compared to previous versions, the platform provides reliable shock absorption and a balanced feel best suited for easy miles and steady-paced daily training.

The upper uses a redesigned Primeknit construction with varying levels of structure and flex zones for breathability and targeted support. The single-piece seamless design is stretchy and well-ventilated, with perforated areas in the toebox and tongue contributing to excellent breathability. An X-shaped Torsion System in the midfoot adds rigidity for stable transitions, while a molded external heel counter with plastic clips provides security and control during the gait cycle.

The outsole features Continental rubber coverage focused on the heel and forefoot, with exposed foam zones and translucent rubber in the midfoot.
