The Adidas Ultraboost features Light Boost cushioning in the midsole, a TPU-based foam that delivers responsive, bouncy cushioning with a controlled feel. The shoe sits 35mm at the heel and 25mm at the forefoot, providing substantial cushioning that favors heel strikers while still accommodating midfoot and forefoot strikers. The Torsion System, an X-shaped plastic element in the midfoot, adds torsional rigidity for stability during transitions. The ride is best suited for easy runs and moderate training paces rather than fast workouts.

The upper uses Primeknit construction, a stretchy and breathable single-piece knit material that provides a sock-like fit. The Ultraboost includes a lace cage system and plastic heel clips for additional support and lockdown. The extended heel collar offers secure rearfoot hold, while perforated areas throughout the upper ensure excellent ventilation. The spacious toebox accommodates wider feet comfortably.
