The On Cloudsurfer Trail is a hybrid road-to-trail running shoe designed for runners who want a cushioned ride on light trails and mixed surfaces. It suits daily training on well-groomed trails, gravel paths, and road running with occasional trail excursions.

The midsole features CloudTec Phase technology with Helion foam, creating a soft, cushioned ride with moderate bounce and a rolling heel-to-toe transition. The CloudTec Phase elements compress smoothly to deliver responsive cushioning that works well for easy to moderate-paced training runs. The On Cloudsurfer Trail offers ample underfoot cushioning suitable for longer distances on less technical terrain, though the soft feel may seem excessive on uneven ground.

The engineered mesh upper provides breathability with ventilation holes in the toebox, while maintaining structure through reinforced overlays. A gusseted tongue and secure lacing system keep the foot locked down during runs. The upper fits true to size with a medium width and slightly tapered toebox. The shoe rides as a neutral trainer with enhanced sidewalls and midfoot guidance elements, though the narrow midfoot width keeps the overall ride neutral rather than stable.

The Missiongrip rubber outsole uses shallow 2.5mm lugs that provide adequate traction on crushed rock, gravel paths, and smooth trails. The On Cloudsurfer Trail performs well on road surfaces and groomed trails but lacks the deep lugs needed for muddy or technical single track. Rubber coverage is partial, with exposed foam sections in the midfoot and forefoot that enhance flexibility but limit use on aggressive terrain.
