The midsole features On's CloudTec Phase technology with Helion foam, delivering a firm yet responsive ride with noticeable bounce when loaded. The Cloudsurfer Next rolls smoothly through transitions thanks to a balanced rocker profile with increased forefoot rocker, though the foam remains firmer than many daily trainers. This platform handles daily runs, long efforts beyond 20 kilometers, and faster marathon to threshold-pace workouts, providing significant ground feel despite the relatively high stack.

The upper uses a streamlined synthetic mesh with good structure and debris resistance. A gusseted tongue and elastic eyelets provide secure lockdown throughout the foot, while a semi-rigid heel counter offers stability without irritation. The toe box runs slightly low-volume initially but breaks in after approximately 25 kilometers. Padding around the ankle and heel adds comfort, though the upper prioritizes function over plushness.
