The midsole uses compression-molded EVA foam that delivers a firm yet well-cushioned ride suited to long trail runs and ultra-distance efforts. The SPEEDGOAT 6 GTX features a rockered geometry that promotes smooth forward transitions, though the waterproof membrane makes the shoe noticeably stiffer overall compared to the standard version. The cushioning works well for moderate paces on extended outings where protection and durability matter more than speed.

The upper incorporates a Gore-Tex Invisible Fit membrane that keeps feet dry in wet conditions while maintaining a relatively low profile. The waterproof construction creates a stiffer feel throughout the shoe, particularly in the toe box and overall upper structure.
