The HOKA SPEEDGOAT 6 features a compressed molded EVA midsole that delivers firm, responsive cushioning with a springy, bouncy feel. The midsole is firmer and more responsive than previous versions of the Speedgoat line, providing better ground feedback and nimbleness on technical terrain while still offering maximum cushioning for long efforts. A meta-rocker geometry creates a smooth, rhythmic ride that promotes natural foot roll from heel to toe, helping maintain efficiency across varying paces and terrain without the need for a carbon plate.

The upper consists of a lightweight woven textile material that offers strong breathability while drying quickly after stream crossings or rain exposure. Multiple reinforcement layers both internal and external provide secure foot lockdown, while a stiff heel counter with padding creates a stable bucket feel around the heel. The dual-gusset tongue is well-padded and conforms closely to the top of the foot, and the overall fit runs lower volume than past Speedgoat models for a snugger, more connected feel. A wide toe box accommodates foot swelling during long distances while maintaining security through the midfoot and heel.

The Vibram Megagrip outsole on the HOKA SPEEDGOAT 6 provides reliable traction across mixed terrain with 5mm directional lugs that grip well on both wet and dry surfaces. The multidirectional lug pattern delivers confident traction on moderate technical trails, established routes, smooth dirt paths, and rocky sections, with improved ground contact on ascents and lateral stability during side-hill running. The outsole performs best on moderate trails and fire roads, though it may feel less aggressive on steep downhill sections.
