HOKA CLIFTON 9 GTX running shoes

The HOKA Clifton 9 GTX is a neutral road running shoe designed for daily training in wet and cold weather conditions. Equipped with Gore-Tex waterproofing, it serves as a versatile option for easy runs, recovery miles, and all-day wear during autumn, winter, and spring.

The midsole features CMEVA foam that delivers a firm, responsive ride with balanced cushioning. The rigid rocker profile engages effectively across a range of easy to moderate paces, settling into a consistent rhythm during longer runs. While not as energetic as modern supercritical foams, the Clifton 9 GTX excels at comfortable daily mileage and recovery runs rather than fast-paced workouts.

The upper uses Gore-Tex Invisible Fit technology, where the waterproof membrane is laminated directly to the outer mesh rather than constructed as a traditional bootie. This approach keeps weight low while providing weather protection. The fit is spacious with a wide and high toe box, though overall width runs narrow. A fully gusseted tongue connects to the eyestay for improved midfoot hold, while a redesigned Achilles collar adds padding and security. Extensive 360-degree reflective elements enhance visibility for low-light running. The laminated construction creates a stiffer upper that may require a short break-in period.

The Durabrasion rubber outsole features filled-in traction pads that provide increased contact surface for wet road conditions. The wide midsole base and exceptional torsional rigidity create a stable platform for neutral runners, while the stiff heel counter provides additional support.
