The HOKA Clifton 10 is a neutral daily training shoe designed for road running. It targets runners seeking cushioned comfort for easy runs, recovery sessions, and long training miles, with a protective platform suitable for beginners and experienced runners logging high mileage.

The Clifton 10 uses compression-molded EVA foam in the midsole, delivering a firm yet well-cushioned ride with good stability. The foam provides reliable shock absorption rather than lively energy return, making it best suited for easy to moderate paces around 4:15 to 5:30 min/km. Hoka's meta-rocker geometry creates a smooth forward roll through the gait cycle, with an early forefoot rocker that encourages natural transitions. The shoe features an increased 8mm drop compared to earlier Clifton models, adding extra heel height that favors heel strikers. Sidewalls in the heel region and a wider platform base enhance stability despite the high stack construction.

The upper consists of jacquard knit mesh with good breathability and durability. A non-gusseted, heavily padded tongue and substantial heel collar cushioning provide comfort around the foot. The rigid heel counter locks the rearfoot securely in place. The Clifton 10 features a roomier toe box than previous versions, with a fit that runs true to size and is available in multiple width options. The lacing system delivers good lockdown when properly tightened.

The road-focused outsole uses rubber coverage in high-wear zones with flex grooves for smooth transitions. It provides adequate grip on dry and wet roads, and can handle light groomed trails occasionally. The modular design balances weight reduction with adequate tread coverage and durability.
