The Adidas Supernova Rise 2 is a neutral daily training shoe designed for road running. It offers pace versatility for everyday runners, handling everything from easy miles to tempo workouts, though it's not built for racing.

The midsole features full-length Dreamstrike+ PEBA-based foam that delivers a responsive, moderately firm ride with lively rebound. Compared to the original Rise, the Supernova Rise 2 feels softer and more energetic while maintaining good resilience. EVA Support Rods embedded in the midsole add inherent stability without making the shoe feel heavy or restrictive. The cushioning works well for daily training at moderate paces and can handle tempo runs and fartlek sessions, though the forefoot stack may feel thin for very long distances beyond 30 kilometers.

The upper uses lightweight engineered mesh that's densely woven for durability while remaining breathable. The material offers a soft feel with slight stretch, maintaining a secure hold without restriction. A thick, non-gusseted tongue includes deep padding to prevent lace bite, while the three stripes play a key role in midfoot support. The Adidas Supernova Rise 2 features stiff padded collars and a low, rigid heel counter with moderately firm ankle and Achilles padding. The fit runs true to size with a snug overall feel and a moderately broad toe box.

The outsole provides full coverage using Adiwear rubber in a complex design. The lateral rear uses a firm extended slab, the midfoot features extensive softer crystal-type rubber, and the forefoot has Adiwear black rubber with longitudinal cutouts. Despite the extensive coverage, the outsole remains flexible with good grip and durability. The Supernova Rise 2 is best suited for roads, tracks, and smooth surfaces, with moderate traction on wet pavement but not designed for trails or uneven terrain.
