The midsole uses Repetitor EVA-based foam that delivers a balanced ride with strong energy return. A distinctive deep, decoupled groove runs from the heel into the midfoot, creating a trampoline-like compression effect that adds bounce and liveliness underfoot. The Adidas ADISTAR 4 features a relatively stiff forefoot with a pronounced rocker geometry that enhances efficiency and creates fast transitions, making it particularly well-suited for steady-paced runs around 5:00-6:00 min/km.

The upper provides a true-to-size fit with a wide midfoot and normal toebox. The integrated lacing system secures the foot effectively, though the eyelets are notably thick. With medium flexibility and a supportive structure, the shoe offers adequate stability for most runners, though the tall midsole and relatively narrow base may feel less secure at very slow paces or for runners with significant overpronation.
