The Saucony Peregrine 16 is a versatile trail running shoe designed for technical terrain and longer distances on mountains and rugged trails. It caters to runners seeking a balance of cushioning, responsiveness, and confident grip for everything from daily trail training to ultra distances.

The midsole features PWRRUN foam with 4mm of additional stack compared to the previous version, resulting in a softer, more protective ride while maintaining responsiveness and control. A PWRRUN+ sockliner adds further comfort underfoot. The Saucony Peregrine 16 offers enough cushioning for extended runs without sacrificing the nimble, low-to-ground feel that allows the shoe to flex and adapt over uneven terrain. A forefoot rock guard balances protection with natural contouring and flexibility, making it suitable for both fast-paced efforts and long mountain days.

The upper uses high-strength engineered mesh with reinforced zones in high-abrasion areas for durability. The fit runs true to size with a secure midfoot, well-locked heel, and a toe box that provides natural toe splay without excess volume. Well-padded heel collar and tongue enhance comfort, while an integrated D-ring allows gaiter attachment for extra protection. A protective toe bumper shields against rocks and roots, and the secure lacing system includes an extra eyelet for improved lockdown on technical descents.

The Saucony Peregrine 16 uses a Vibram Megagrip outsole with Vibram Traction Lugs featuring 4mm chevron-shaped lugs. This sticky rubber compound delivers reliable grip on wet rock, loose dirt, steep climbs, technical downhills, mud, and even light snow. The lug geometry helps bite on ascents and provides composed braking on descents, making it suitable for all-mountain terrain and technical trails.
