The Puma Velocity NITRO 4 features a full-length NITROFOAM midsole that delivers a responsive, lively ride with noticeable energy return. The foam provides moderate cushioning that feels soft and bouncy underfoot while maintaining enough firmness to hold pace during faster efforts. The 10mm drop creates a traditional daily trainer feel with more cushioning at the heel than the forefoot. The platform is non-rockered or features only a subtle forefoot rocker, resulting in natural transitions that work well for easy runs and tempo sessions but may feel less smooth at slower heel-striking paces.

The upper uses engineered mesh of moderate thickness that balances breathability with durability. A gusseted tongue with perforated padding prevents pressure on the top of the foot, while flat laces provide secure lockdown without requiring mid-run adjustments. The heel features deep padding and a stiff counter with generous rubber coverage for a locked-in feel.
