The On Cloudrunner 2 is a road running shoe designed for daily training with light stability support. It works well for runners who need subtle guidance without heavy structure, making it suitable for easy to moderate-paced runs, recovery days, and treadmill sessions.

The midsole uses Helion Superfoam molded into CloudTec pods that compress on landing and open on takeoff. The ride balances firmness and cushioning, running firmer than the stack height might suggest but still protective enough for all-day comfort. The On Cloudrunner 2 handles daily mileage best at easy to moderate paces, with an early forefoot rocker that encourages smooth transitions. The foam provides responsive feedback without being overly soft or plush.

The upper features engineered mesh with plush padding around the collar and tongue for comfort. A gusseted tongue helps lock down the midfoot, while the fit runs slightly wide throughout with extra room in the forefoot. Stability comes from a TPU heel clip that wraps around the medial and lateral sides, larger rearfoot sidewalls, and a wider base platform that centers the ride without feeling restrictive. The heel counter provides solid structure, and the partially gusseted tongue prevents slippage during runs.

The outsole combines rubber coverage in high-wear areas with an arrowhead-shaped traction pattern across the CloudTec pods. The On Cloudrunner 2 performs reliably on dry road surfaces and handles wet pavement adequately, though traction works best in dry conditions. The closed channel design prevents rocks and debris from getting trapped in the pods, an improvement over earlier versions.
