The Mizuno Wave Sky 8 is a premium road running shoe designed for neutral runners seeking maximum cushioning on long-distance runs. Built for daily training and distances beyond 20 km, it sits at the top of Mizuno's comfort-focused lineup.

The midsole features a dual-layer construction combining Mizuno Enerzy NXT foam in the upper layer with the firmer Mizuno Enerzy foam below, supplemented by U4icX technology. This setup delivers a soft yet responsive ride with strong energy return, maintaining its bounce over extended mileage. The Wave Sky 8 works well for easy runs and long distances at moderate paces, though the plush cushioning makes it less suitable for aggressive speedwork or racing.

The upper uses a Smooth Stretch Woven knit construction that adapts to different foot shapes while providing a secure lockdown fit. A gusseted tongue and padded heel collar enhance stability around the ankle, and the structured design includes reinforcement in the heel and medial areas. Breathability is moderate due to the thicker knit material, making it more appropriate for cooler weather conditions.

The outsole features X10 carbon rubber in high-wear areas, arranged in multiple segmented zones that allow natural foot movement during the stride. It provides reliable traction on roads and treadmills with a flexible design that supports smooth transitions. The Mizuno Wave Sky 8 is built exclusively for paved surfaces and is not suitable for trails or uneven terrain.
