HOKA RINCON 5 running shoes

The HOKA RINCON 5 is a neutral road running shoe designed as a daily trainer with speed training capabilities. It suits runners looking for a versatile, lightweight option for both easy miles and faster workouts.

The midsole uses single-layer compression-molded EVA foam paired with HOKA's early-stage MetaRocker geometry for smooth forward transitions. The cushioning is firm and responsive rather than plush, with decent shock absorption for recovery runs while remaining stable enough for tempo runs and intervals. Energy return is limited, giving the HOKA RINCON 5 a flat, grounded feel rather than a bouncy or springy ride. The 8mm drop helps ease strain on the calves and Achilles, particularly for heel-to-midfoot strikers.

The upper features a single-layer engineered mesh that promotes quick heat dissipation during warm-weather runs and high-intensity sessions. Internal midfoot support bands integrate with the lacing system to provide a secure arch wrap without bulky external overlays. The shoe delivers impressive stability through its firm midsole construction and broad platform, making it suitable for neutral runners and those with mild overpronation.

The outsole employs a podular design with Durabrasion rubber strategically placed in high-wear zones to improve durability over previous versions. Grip performs well on dry asphalt and damp road surfaces. The HOKA RINCON 5 is built exclusively for road running, with expected durability ranging from 450 to 800 km.
