The Arahi 8 features a compression-molded EVA midsole that's noticeably softer than previous versions, delivering moderate cushioning with a plush, comfortable feel underfoot. The shoe incorporates an early-stage Meta-rocker geometry that smooths heel-to-toe transitions and encourages a rolling stride, though the foam lacks the responsiveness needed for tempo runs or speed work. With an increase of around 3mm in stack height compared to its predecessor, the Arahi 8 provides ample cushioning for easy-paced training and recovery miles. The midsole works best at relaxed paces where comfort matters more than ground feel or energy return.

The double jacquard mesh upper is soft and accommodating but not particularly breathable, with a thick, tightly woven construction that can feel warm on longer efforts. The HOKA Arahi 8 uses an H-Frame stability system—a firmer EVA structure extending along the midfoot and heel—that replaces the previous J-Frame design and provides dual-sided support to guide the foot through the gait cycle. The fit is wider and roomier than earlier Arahi models, especially in the forefoot and toebox, while the padded tongue and flared heel collar add comfort. Extra lacing eyelets allow for customized lacing patterns, though the non-gusseted tongue can shift slightly during runs.

The outsole features abrasion-resistant rubber patches placed strategically in high-wear zones at the heel and forefoot, with exposed EVA foam visible in the midfoot. Traction is adequate on dry and wet tarmac for road running, though grip on slick surfaces is unremarkable. The HOKA Arahi 8 is built exclusively for road use and handles paved surfaces and tarmac throughout daily training.
