Aimed at beginners seeking their first carbon-plated shoe and value-conscious runners, the ASICS MAGIC SPEED 5 returns to a lighter, more nimble design after the maximalist approach of its predecessor.

The midsole features a dual-foam construction with FF Leap foam on top and FF Blast+ as the carrier foam below, combined with a full-length carbon plate that has a forked design in the forefoot for added flexibility. This setup delivers a bouncy, responsive ride that feels softly springy during easier efforts and forcefully energetic during interval work and race-pace running. The forked plate design makes the ASICS MAGIC SPEED 5 more compliant and beginner-friendly compared to stiffer super shoes, while still providing strong propulsion for tempo runs and racing. The reduced stack height compared to version 4 offers better ground feel and a more direct connection to the road.

The upper uses a single-layer engineered mesh that offers outstanding breathability, particularly in the forefoot area.
