The midsole features full-length FF Blast Plus foam paired with PureGel technology in the heel for a moderately cushioned, bouncy ride. The GT-2000 12 delivers smooth transitions with a soft landing, quick midfoot transition, and a firm, snappy toe-off. Despite being a stability shoe, it feels light on the foot and provides enough responsiveness for speedwork and fartlek training while remaining comfortable for higher mileage days. The ride balances ground feel with cushioning, making it versatile across different training paces.

The upper uses a jacquard mesh construction that provides a snug, performance-oriented fit with mild compression around the midfoot. A thin gusseted tongue stays in place during runs, while the heel counter offers secure lockdown without irritation. The ASICS GT-2000 12 employs a 3D Guidance System for stability, using a wider base, beveled heel, forefoot flare, and internal midsole geometry rather than a traditional medial post.
