The Adizero Adios 7 features a dual-density midsole combining a full-length Lightstrike foam base with a layer of bouncier Lightstrike Pro foam in the midfoot and forefoot. The ride is firm and snappy with strong responsiveness at faster paces, delivering controlled rebound and quick transitions. A semi-rigid plastic torsion system runs from the heel through the forefoot to add stability during push-off. This setup excels during tempo efforts and speedwork but feels overly stiff and rigid at easy paces, making it less suitable for recovery runs or slower training sessions.

The upper uses a thin, highly breathable mesh construction with suede overlays on the forefoot for added structure. The semi-gusseted tongue stays in place during runs, and multiple lacing options allow for customized fit adjustments. The overall fit runs narrow to medium, particularly through the midfoot and heel, with a low-volume design that creates a locked-down, race-ready feel. The minimal heel counter is soft and pliable, though some runners may experience heel slippage without using a heel-lock lacing technique.

The Adidas Adizero Adios 7 uses a Continental rubber outsole with excellent grip on both wet and dry asphalt. The hard rubber compound provides exceptional durability with minimal wear even after extended mileage. While primarily a road shoe, the outsole can handle light trail conditions such as packed dirt and gravel paths when needed.
