The midsole uses EnergyCell foam, a balanced EVA compound that sits in the middle ground between plush and firm. With 32mm of cushioning at the heel and 21mm at the forefoot, the Salomon SUPERCROSS 4 provides substantial protection under the heel while keeping the forefoot lower to the ground. The ride feels flexible and comfortable for trail running at varied paces, though the thinner forefoot stack may be less suitable for very long distances.

The upper is constructed from ultra-thin mesh with minimal ventilation openings, offering a streamlined fit without much airflow. A QuickLace system allows for quick adjustments, and the shoe includes a removable Ortholite insole. The heel counter is relatively flexible, and the overall build emphasizes agility over rigid support, with a narrow heel design that aids cornering on technical trails.
