The midsole features a dual-layer construction with energyFOAM and energyFOAM+ (with a PEBA core) that balances plush protection with responsive energy. The cushioning absorbs impacts on rocky terrain without feeling mushy or unstable, while maintaining liveliness on faster, flatter trail sections. Reverse Camber geometry enhances the heel-to-toe transition for a smooth, efficient stride. The Salomon S/LAB ULTRA GLIDE 1.5 excels at eating up long miles with deep cushioning that adapts well as fatigue sets in, making it suitable for ultra-distance training and race day.

The upper uses synthetic mesh with an integrated SensiFit system for midfoot lockdown and a gusseted tongue. The Quicklace system allows quick, secure cinching for easy transitions. A redesigned heel collar with softer, flexible knit material wraps the Achilles, eliminating the friction issues found in the original model and providing a secure, comfortable fit.

The All Terrain Contagrip outsole features 4mm lugs and relieveSPHERE geometry—circular indentations in the heel and forefoot that increase ground contact on harder surfaces.
