The midsole features a tall stack of supercritical NitroFoam that delivers soft, bouncy cushioning with good rebound and resilience. The MAGMAX NITRO 2 strikes a balance between plush protection and responsiveness, offering a more firm and performance-oriented ride than ultra-soft max-cushioned shoes. A rocker geometry aids turnover across a wide range of paces, from around 5:30 to 7:00 min/km, making the shoe versatile for various training needs. The tall platform provides general stability suitable for neutral runners and those with mild to moderate overpronation.

The upper uses soft, pliable engineered mesh with thin overlays at the midfoot for support. A gusseted tongue with light padding protects the top of the foot while remaining stretchy and comfortable. The improved upper fit represents a notable step forward compared to previous Puma models.
