The Nike Zoom Superfly Elite 2 features an extremely minimal cushioning setup with only a thin insole and no foam midsole. The honeycomb spike plate serves as both the propulsion surface and the foundation, placing the foot directly in contact with the track with zero buffer. This flat, zero-drop platform provides raw responsiveness and tactile feedback suited to explosive sprinting and maximum turnover. The stiff construction demands strong technique and is best reserved for race day rather than daily training volume.

The Atomknit upper wraps the foot in a snug, sock-like fit that molds to the foot shape while maintaining structure through a padded heel counter that locks the foot in place. Breathability is strong with ventilation concentrated at the forefoot, though the non-stretchy material runs slightly small and narrow. The lacing system features a notched design similar to the Alphafly series, and a finger-loop heel tab aids entry into the tight-fitting upper.

The outsole is a plastic-based spike plate measuring 6.4mm thick with an aggressive honeycomb design that delivers propulsion and grip on the track surface. Eight fully removable pins provide ample traction in both dry and wet conditions, and the plate's moderate torsional rigidity balances comfort with propulsive efficiency through curves during 200 and 400 meter events.
