The Nike Zoom Rival Distance is a track spike designed for beginner to intermediate distance runners competing in middle- to long-distance events from 400 meters to 10,000 meters. These running shoes are also suitable for hurdles, long jump, triple jump, and pole vault on track surfaces.

The Nike Zoom Rival Distance features a full-length Phylon foam midsole that delivers lightweight and resilient cushioning, with an additional cushioning unit in the heel for increased comfort over longer race distances. The Pebax spike plate at the forefoot provides a stiff, propulsive platform for efficient energy return during finishing kicks.

The upper consists of a single-layer mesh construction that offers lightweight breathability without excess bulk. No-sew overlays at the heel, forefoot, and eyestays add support and durability. An internal arch band wraps around the midfoot to secure the foot during competition.

The Nike Zoom Rival Distance uses a Pebax spike plate at the forefoot with four removable spike receptacles for traction. Textured rubber extends from the heel to the spike plate for additional grip. The shoe is designed for track surfaces including indoor and outdoor rubber tracks, as well as dirt and grass.
