Description

The Nike Revolution 8 is a road running shoe designed for beginners and casual runners seeking an affordable option for daily training and short runs. It works well for general fitness activities and transitions easily between running and everyday casual wear.

The Nike Revolution 8 features a new EVA foam midsole that replaces the older Phylon material found in previous versions. The cushioning is medium-firm with better shock absorption and energy return than its predecessor, offering responsive ground contact while keeping runners close to the pavement. The forefoot cushioning is modest, making the shoe best suited for shorter distances up to around 10 km rather than high-mileage training. The rounded heel design provides smooth landings for heel strikers, while the low stack height delivers good ground feel.

The upper uses an engineered mesh construction that offers improved breathability compared to earlier Revolution models. The fit runs true to size but narrow, with a tapered toe box that may feel restrictive for runners who prefer more toe room. A padded heel collar with well-placed touch points makes the Nike Revolution 8 easy to slip on and off without rubbing, while the semi-gusseted tongue stays securely in place during runs. The heel counter provides solid support, and the shoe includes a removable EVA insole.

The outsole features a waffle-inspired pattern with full rubber coverage in the heel and forefoot areas for durability on paved surfaces. Flex grooves cut into the forefoot enhance grip on both dry and wet roads, while the overall design delivers reliable traction on asphalt and packed dirt paths. The Nike Revolution 8 performs well for road running but is not built for muddy or technical trails.
