The Nike Dragonfly 2 is a track spike designed for distance events ranging from 1500m through 10K. Built for competitive racing and tempo workouts on the track, it can also be used on firm cross country courses.

The Nike Dragonfly 2 features a full-length ZoomX foam midsole maxed out to the World Athletics 20mm stack height limit, delivering responsive cushioning that protects legs through longer races. A full-length Pebax plate runs heel to forefoot, providing a smooth, gradual forward roll rather than an aggressive snap. The ride feels controlled and efficient at race pace, with enough bounce to stay lively without sacrificing stability. This cushioning setup makes the shoe particularly well-suited for 5K and 10K efforts where traditional minimal spikes can feel harsh in the later stages.

The single-layer engineered mesh upper is extremely lightweight with large ventilation zones across the forefoot and midfoot. The tongue is minimally padded to save weight, while strategic foam pads around the ankle and heel provide lockdown. The toebox is roomier than most performance spikes, allowing natural toe splay during longer efforts. The Nike Dragonfly 2 improves on the original with a wider forefoot and midfoot platform plus an elevated inner edge, enhancing stability through turns while maintaining a neutral feel. Traditional notched laces keep the fit secure.

The four-pin spike configuration delivers reliable traction on standard track surfaces. The pins are removable for customization. On firm grass, the setup provides adequate grip for cross country use, though performance drops on softer or muddy terrain.
