The Nike ACG Pegasus Trail is a versatile road-to-trail running shoe designed for runners who split their training between pavement, gravel, and light to moderate singletrack. It serves as a mixed-terrain daily trainer that transitions seamlessly across surfaces without the typical compromises of hybrid models.

The Nike ACG Pegasus Trail features ReactX foam with increased volume compared to its predecessor, delivering protective and forgiving cushioning that handles rocky and rooted terrain while maintaining a lively, springy character. The 8mm drop contributes to a grounded, connected feel underfoot rather than a vague or disconnected ride. The midsole stays energetic at easy and moderate training paces on both flat surfaces and variable terrain, though it lacks the aggressive snap needed for race-specific efforts.

The upper uses lightweight engineered mesh with zonal breathability and quick-drain properties, complemented by durable overlays and a rubber toe bumper that protects against trail debris. The toe box is noticeably wider and taller than previous versions, providing genuine room for toe splay and natural swelling during longer efforts. The redesigned collar and eyelet system delivers excellent heel lockdown that adapts to foot expansion without creating pressure points or slippage on technical sections.

The Nike ACG Pegasus Trail runs on Nike's Trail All Terrain Compound 2.0 outsole with a hybrid chevron and hex lug pattern approximately 3.5 to 4mm deep. The rubber compound rolls smoothly and quietly on roads and packed gravel while engaging with confident bite on wet dirt, root-covered singletrack, and damp fire roads. Climbing traction is reliable on wet grass, slick rock, and loose gravel, though the lug depth proves insufficient for very wet or deep mud conditions.
