The New Balance TEKTREL is a door-to-trail running shoe designed for versatile use across both roads and light trails. Aimed at casual runners seeking a single shoe for mixed terrain, the TEKTREL handles easy, non-technical trails, walking, and everyday road running.

The midsole features standard EVA foam with geometric angles incorporated into the design, delivering a balanced cushioning feel without advanced proprietary technologies. The ride is moderate and flexible rather than explosive, making it suitable for easy-paced runs and recreational outings. With 32 mm of heel stack and 24 mm in the forefoot, the TEKTREL provides adequate underfoot protection for light trail surfaces and daily training.

The upper combines engineered mesh with a reinforced toe cap, offering strong breathability through strategically placed ventilation holes in the toebox. The tongue includes 5.5 mm of padding with a finger-loop tab and multiple centering loops, though it lacks a gusseted design. The shoe runs half a size small, so sizing up is recommended. Available in both normal and wide widths, the TEKTREL accommodates medium to wide feet with a roomy toebox that allows for natural toe splay.

The AT Tread outsole features 2.4 mm triangular lugs with X-shaped cuts for torsional flexibility, prioritizing versatility over aggressive grip. The shallow lug depth and firm rubber compound suit paved surfaces and packed dirt paths, making the New Balance TEKTREL ideal for park trails and light outdoor routes where technical traction is not required.
