New Balance FRESH FOAM 880V11 running shoes

The New Balance Fresh Foam 880V11 is a neutral daily trainer designed for road running. Built for everyday training, it suits runners of all levels from beginners building their base to experienced marathoners logging consistent miles.

The Fresh Foam 880V11 features a dual-layer midsole combining Fresh Foam X with responsive EVA foam for a plush yet firm ride. The cushioning provides soft landings with snappy energy return and good bounce, though it rides on the stiffer side without pronounced springiness at toe-off. The foam delivers smooth heel-to-forefoot transitions and handles a variety of training paces, from easy recovery runs to long-distance efforts and base-building sessions.

The upper uses double jacquard engineered mesh that's softer and more breathable than the previous Hypoknit construction. A free-floating padded tongue molds to the foot shape while maintaining secure lockdown, and the heel collar features sufficient padding without adding bulk. The molded external heel counter provides structure, and the generous forefoot allows comfortable toe splay. The removable insole lets runners customize cushioning levels.

The outsole uses blown rubber with flex grooves and a honeycomb design for durable traction. Strategic rubber placement balances coverage with weight while maintaining excellent grip on pavement and wet surfaces. The forefoot flex grooves promote fluid transitions during the gait cycle.
