The Mizuno Wave Horizon 8 is a premium stability trainer designed for road running. Built for overpronators and runners seeking maximum support and cushioning, it excels in daily training and long-distance efforts where a stable, comfortable platform is essential.

The Mizuno Wave Horizon 8 features a dual-density midsole system combining ENERZY NXT on top with a standard ENERZY foam base, delivering a bouncy yet grounded ride with soft landings and responsive push-offs. The Foam Wave construction adds firmness in key areas for support while maintaining comfort where it's not needed. This setup provides strong energy return and works well for easy-paced runs and extended sessions, with a smooth midfoot and forefoot transition aided by a forefoot rocker that begins before the toe joints. The midsole feels lively enough to offset the shoe's heavier build.

The upper uses Mizuno's Smooth Stretch Woven material that adapts to the foot while maintaining a secure fit. A gusseted tongue hugs the midfoot for added security, and the fit runs true to size with a wider-than-average shape throughout the forefoot and midfoot. Stability comes from a strong medial post providing arch support from heel through forefoot, reinforced by a rubber wall along the medial side of the midsole and the Wave design's geometric structure. The Wave Horizon 8 offers moderate to high stability that becomes more noticeable as the midsole compresses, making it particularly effective for fatigued legs and downhill running.

The X10 carbon rubber outsole provides durable traction suitable for road running with occasional light off-road ventures.
