The midsole uses supercritical EVA foam, which provides more bounce and responsiveness than traditional EVA formulations while maintaining durability. The ride feels soft with noticeable spring when loaded, though the overall character leans slightly firm due to the thick, durable rubber outsole beneath the foam. A meta-rocker geometry borrowed from other HOKA models encourages smooth heel-to-toe transitions, making the SKYFLOW particularly effective for easier paces and tired legs. The combination of cushioning depth and responsive foam makes this shoe well-suited for daily training volume rather than speed work or tempo sessions.

The upper features Creel jacquard mesh with good breathability and a relatively snug, low-volume fit throughout. A padded, gusseted tongue prevents sliding, while a well-cushioned heel collar adds comfort. The HOKA SKYFLOW incorporates Active Foot Frame technology with raised midsole sidewalls and a substantial heel counter for enhanced stability. The fit runs true to size, though wide options are available for those needing extra room in the midfoot and forefoot.
