The midsole features FF Blast+ ECO foam in a firm, responsive configuration rather than a soft, plush setup. With a substantial 40mm stack at the heel and 35mm in the forefoot, the cushioning delivers reliable protection on extended runs without feeling overly pillowy. A 5mm drop and rocker geometry in the forefoot promote smooth transitions, while the wide platform keeps the foot sitting low in the midsole for a stable feel despite the high stack. The firmness suits moderate training paces on trails and translates well to road sections during mixed-surface outings.

The upper uses an engineered jacquard mesh construction that balances breathability with durability. A snug, secure fit runs slightly narrow and short, so considering a half size up for ultra-distance runs makes sense. Generous heel padding and a molded heel counter provide excellent lockdown, while foam-padded sections on the tongue prevent lace pressure. The ASICS Trabuco Max 4 offers strong lateral support through reinforced sidewalls, though the fit requires thicker socks initially to avoid friction.
