The ASICS FUJISPEED 4 is a lightweight trail running shoe designed for speed on non-technical terrain. Built for experienced trail runners and those transitioning from road running, it excels on smooth forest trails, gravel paths, and rolling terrain where a fast, responsive ride is prioritized over maximum protection.

The ASICS FUJISPEED 4 features a dual-layer FF BLAST PLUS midsole paired with a full-length Pebax propulsion plate. This combination delivers a firm, direct ride with strong energy return and forward momentum on both climbs and descents. The cushioning is relatively minimal and focused on responsiveness rather than plush comfort, making the shoe well-suited to tempo runs, trail competitions up to marathon distance, and faster training sessions. The Pebax plate flexes naturally with the terrain while maintaining efficiency, though the firm character may require a short break-in period of around 25 to 30 km.

The upper is constructed from a durable woven mesh that offers high breathability while resisting abrasions from rocks and roots. The modern lacing system uses a cord that runs across the entire closure area to distribute tension evenly, providing secure midfoot lockdown. A lace garage loop keeps laces tucked away to prevent snagging on undergrowth. The fit runs true to size with a spacious toe box, and the upper sheds water quickly without absorbing much moisture.

The ASICSGRIP rubber outsole is equipped with 3.5mm lugs that are spaced apart and absent in the midfoot. The ASICS FUJISPEED 4 delivers excellent grip on wet rock and dry surfaces, but the relatively shallow, flat lugs offer limited traction in deep mud or highly technical rocky terrain. The outsole is best matched to firm trails, gravel, and non-technical routes where speed takes priority.
