The Adidas Supernova 2 is a road running shoe designed for beginner runners and daily training at easy paces. Built for recovery runs and the majority of training miles that should be run at comfortable speeds, this shoe suits heel strikers seeking a softer, more cushioned trainer.

The midsole combines two foam technologies: Boost foam in the rear, made from expanded TPU beads that provide energetic cushioning and rebound, and Bounce foam in the forefoot, a softer rubberized material that compresses easily but offers less rapid energy return. The Adidas Supernova 2 delivers a mellow, pleasant ride suited to slower recovery efforts. The broad, stable heel absorbs impact well, while the flexible forefoot compresses from the moderate 23mm stack. The shoe lacks the responsiveness needed for faster pacing and can bottom out at the ball of the foot during uptempo running, making it best for easy-effort training rather than tempo work or long distances.

The engineered mesh upper features dense construction with ventilation slots for breathability. A secure, comfortable heel collar with semi-rigid counter provides reliable lockdown, while the moderately padded tongue lacks a gusset. The wide platform offers stability underfoot, though the shoe is not designed for pronation control.

The outsole uses direct-injected TPU ringed by rubber, with nearly full coverage at the heel and forefoot but exposed foam in the midfoot. Traction is modest on pavement, and the Adidas Supernova 2 performs best on dry road surfaces.
