The midsole features three different formulations of Lightstrike Pro foam stacked to 50mm at the heel and 43mm in the forefoot, creating a highly responsive and bouncy ride. A full-length carbon fiber plate sits above the Energy Rods 2.0 system, which distributes pressure and enhances toe-off snap. The layered foam construction places softer material underfoot with firmer densities positioned strategically throughout the stack, producing smooth heel-to-forefoot transitions and strong energy return. The extremely stiff forefoot platform requires a break-in period of around 30 to 40 km before the cushioning fully activates, and the shoe performs best for heel strikers running at uptempo or marathon paces rather than easy recovery speeds.

The Adidas ADIZERO PRIME X3 uses a Strung upper constructed from precision-placed threads that create a seamless, adaptive fit. The knit collar wraps the ankle in a sock-like design with stretchy fabric extending across the instep, while the higher padded heel collar provides secure lockdown without a traditional heel counter. The upper runs true to size with a slightly wider forefoot than previous versions, offering a low-volume fit through the midfoot and ample toe box space. The inner construction requires socks, and the thin laces can create pressure points if overtightened.

The outsole combines Lighttraxion material across most of the footprint with Continental rubber zones in the forefoot for grip during toe-off. A split midfoot design and posterolateral heel bevel guide the foot through transitions, while strategic cutouts expose the midsole to reduce weight.
