The Adidas Response is a road running shoe designed for casual runners and daily training. It works well for easy runs, recovery miles, and can double as a comfortable walking and lifestyle shoe.

The Adidas Response features a full-length EVA foam midsole paired with an OrthoLite sockliner that delivers plush, soft cushioning. The ride feels comfortable and forgiving for easy-paced running around 5:15 min/km or slower, but the foam lacks the responsiveness needed for tempo runs or speed intervals. After extended use the cushioning compresses slightly but remains functional for conversational-pace efforts and recovery days.

The engineered mesh upper provides excellent breathability, making the Adidas Response well-suited for warm weather training. The mesh construction offers a lightweight feel with aggressive ventilation that keeps feet cool in hot conditions. The fit runs true to size with a comfortable, accommodating shape that requires virtually no break-in period. Support is adequate for runners with neutral biomechanics but not structured enough for significant overpronation.

The rubber outsole delivers solid traction on asphalt, concrete, and light trail sections. Grip holds up well on wet pavement, and the 10mm drop creates a smooth heel-to-toe transition that works for various running styles. The Adidas Response handles typical road running surfaces reliably with even wear patterns across the outsole.
